Hello Everyone,
My name is Mark! I'm the DM for Lair Actions. I've been crafting stories and adventures for RPGs for over 10 years now. Along the way I started doing voices to bring the stories I write to life which led me to start taking on roles as a Voice Actor as well for video game mods and animations!
Before doing D&D professionally my career consisted of working in the medical and mental health field in the USA for about 10 years. I've worked with all age groups. Even back then I was a huge supporter of using video games and table top RPGs in thereupetic treatment especially while I was working in Pediatric Mental Health as they are incredibly helpful for building confidence, learning strong communication skills, learning how to compromise and work as a team, while also building social and risk assessment skills in a controlled setting.

Have you ever looked through the weapon list in the Player's Handbook and thought, "Wow most of these are useless, and the only real distinguishing characteristic between them is size of the damage dice?"
Well not if you're using the "Personality" system! I realized that most players only use a small handful of weapons, if they use any at all (looking at you, casters) But it doesn't have to be that way! I did my research and looked into how these weapons were used historically and culturally to create perks for all the unloved weapons out there to give them small, but significant situational bonuses that make them truly feel different.
Take the Trident for example ranked 33rd in weapon popularity rankings:
"Poseidon's Boon. When used for fishing or in underwater combat the weapon has a +2 to the check, attack, and damage rolls.
Tri-tonged Parry. When a creature attacks you with a weapon and misses, you can use your reaction to make a contested strength check to bind the weapon in the tongs and disarm them.
Net Synergy. When wielding a net in the offhand, both have a +1 to attack rolls."
Or take the Blowgun, ranked dead last (37/37) as it by default only does a flat 1 point of damage and receives no bonuses:
Dart Sniping. Attacks with a blowgun crit on 19, or 20, Additionally, attacks with the blowgun don't reveal the attacker's location, if hidden.
Poison Efficiency. Saving throws against poison on blowgun darts are at disadvantage. Furthermore 30 needles can be laced with one vial of poison.
Concealable. With your action, you can make a SLEIGHT OF HAND check to disassemble and thoroughly hide your blowgun on your person. If parts are found, it is not clear they were for a weapon.
